Located a few seconds walk from Covent Garden tube station, MAC’s three-floored new London store with its floor-to-ceiling mirrors, matt black shop fittings and bright strip lighting feels a little like an ‘80s nightclub. Instead of sweaty-lipped clubbers, however, here you will be greeted by MAC's smart staff and kaleidoscopic counters of makeup including its specilaist MAC Pro range – a hit with make-up artists, trannies and other performers across the globe. MAC has upsized from its former home on Neal Street and in the new space buying cosmetics has become much more experiential. On the ground floor there are six make-up stations where the makeup team can give you attend to your aesthetic requirements – how about a theatrical new look (£50 for a 90 minutes) or a 30 minute Express makeup is £20 (both redeemable against products). Downstairs in the basement, the store features a Lash Bar where you can experiment with MAC’s exotic array of false lashes. It’s like Girl’s World for grown-ups.

I had been wanting to get into makeup for a long time but was always put off by the horror stories I've heard of mac employees refusing to help people and looking down on them; However covent garden's mac is a haven for all those who love or want to get into makeup. Although the store was quite busy, employees came over to help as soon as they could and they really had an efficient system going. They were very informative and you could see they loved their craft. Would definetely visit again!
I love Mac cosmetics. Visited this store, a stone's throw from Covent Garden tube, and was advised by the most helpful, cheerful, knowledgeable member of staff by the name of Alex. She made mine and my daughter's day. We came away very happy customers indeed and the products we purchased were wonderful. Alex clearly loves the products she's selling and understood each of our needs and styles to perfection. Give that young woman a raise!
Thanks Alex, and Mac
I am a big fan of MAC Cosmetics, but what made me love this store was the staff. They were not too pushy and recommended the right products for my skin, not just trying to sell me something. When I went it was quite busy, yet the staff were very friendly and took care of me and my friend.
I have to agree, the Covent Garden store is a real gem. I'm a makeup artist and sometimes it can be a bit challenging to ask for help on particular brands when updating the kit. However, the team of artists couldn't be more approachable and full of great tips and advice. Although I find the entrance floor a touch cramped when busy the rest of the store really opens up into a haven of make up delights.
I absolutely love this store, the layout is great, ample space downstairs and had a couple of great training sessions there. The staff are very friendly and are very accommodating to your needs, they do not intimidate you at all(as in other Mac stores that I frequently visit). Definately one of my favourite stores.
