Vintage culture obsessive Speedie Gazelle opened his self-titled boutique last year, and has packed it with clothing, furniture and retro electronica zoned into living-room, kitchen and dining areas (which give the shop the look and feel of a bedsit that time forgot). In a hipster neighbourhood that is rapidly becoming choked with vintage stores, Speedie’s competes with low prices, monthly gigs and parties, great customer service (you can even get afternoon tea, served in vintage china) and a shop front on one of the most hyped streets in town.
