It’s been more than six years since Stella McCartney launched her label, and, with every collection stronger than the last, even her original doubters have become converts. Her easy-to-wear, luxe but sporty look has enduring appeal and is a hit with young Hollywood, off-duty supermodels and fashionistas with cash to flash.
Sweater dresses, swing coats, poetic blouses, broderie anglaise dresses and platform boots have all featured heavily in collections, and are destined to work their way into many fashion-conscious wardrobes. Joining the main line, fragrance, skincare and sportswear collaboration with Adidas, is an expanded accessories line, as well as a lingerie line.
McCartney’s views on animal rights are well known, so her bags, belts and shoes are made in cruelty-free fabrics such as satin, velvet, nylon and canvas. Stella McCartney is also available from Harvey Nichols and Selfridges.
Stella McCartney is number 44 in our list of the 100 best shops in London.
