The Great Divide

When we first went to E5 jeans store Bad Denim, our tour was interrupted several times by Clapton chaps wandering desolately in to the women’s shop looking for new clothes. Now, the neglected sartorialists of eastest Hackney have a corner of the shop reserved for them, and it packs a lot of fashion punch into its limited real estate. The Great Divide is first and foremost a very cool men’s webstore, and this retail space has a failsafe edit of its wider online collection. Think striped Amor Lux T shirts, Red Wing boots, Vans shoes, Penfield jackets and Lee 101s – the modern uniform of most gents in the area. A lot of local chaps like their clothes, but feel genuine terror at the thought of a trip to Oxford Street, so this capsule wardrobe of all-killer-no-filler clobber should fly.
