A new boutique specialising in eccentric menswear and womenswear opens on Monmouth Street
Posted: Wed Aug 20 2008
Adding some hard-edged urban cool to the lovely but slightly chichi Monmouth Street, Unconditional specialises in menswear and womenswear with a twist. Brainchild of Philip Stephens, the man behind Carnaby Street boutique Concrete, Unconditional peddles its eponymous London label alongside a small selection of other brands, including Sharon Wauchob, Rick Owens and Zucca. Stephens also sells a handful of homewares and jewellery. Menswear is conceptual and combines luxury fabrics with appealingly odd shapes – think crisp white shirts with faux bow ties elegantly adorning the fronts. Marie Seguy’s awesome statement necklaces made from heavyweight metals are worth trying on.
Unconditional, 16 Monmouth St, WC2H 9DD (020 7836 6931/www.unconditional.uk.com). Covent Garden tube. Mon-Wed, Fri, Sat 11am-7pm; Thur 11am-8pm; Sun 12.30-6.30pm.
