Sirs, I have been appalled yet again at the behaviour of some of the so called ladies in the championship. Why do the All England Club put up with the 'fishwife' voices of the likes of Miss Sharapova. This wonderful game has been ruined by all the shouting and screaming. It brings the game into disrepute! There is one simple answer- first offence, a warning; second offence, deduct the point; third offence forfeit the game; persistent offending - disqualify! Surely the officials are strong enough to cope with the situation - if not they should not be officiating. It would only take one umpire to take my suggested action and the problem would be solved. Probably the loss of one point would be sufficient. Please have the courage to do something and ensure that this wonderful game enjoys once more its solid reputation. Spectators and viewers do not expect, and should not have to contend with, a performance more fitted to the shouting and screaming of a children's play ground. You may have noticed that there are players who do not resort to these tactics. I implore you do something about it. Don't be feeble - ACT now and show the world you are strong and in control.
