As Millwall's startling form continues, the appearance of a new bright orange third kit could not have come at a better time. Not many teams find themselves being compared to the 1970s Holland side, let alone those in League 1. But if they carry on banging in the goals while donning the tangerine of Cruyff and co, the Lions can be forgiven if they begin their training sessions with the schoolboy ritual of choosing which of the Dutch footballing masters they will each pretend to be. Carlisle, on the other hand, have plummeted down the table and fallen into a legal dispute with former manager John Ward. He claims he was sacked, but the club says his departure was through what must have been the least mutual of all kinds of 'mutual consent' yet to have beset a managerial career. Regardless of how that dispute is resolved, Carlisle will be up against it, especially with Adam Bolder slotting into the Millwall midfield thanks to a loan deal with Queens Park Rangers.
