Having performed so consistently during the first half of the season, the Lions have emerged into 2009 with a slight whimper. Bottom-of-the-table Crewe left the Den with draws in both league and FA Cup, Yeovil scraped a point and the loss against Peterborough was the first in almost two months. However, a slow spell is inevitable in even the best of seasons, and perhaps this battle against fellow promotion chasers can shake the team back into winning ways before anyone really needs to worry about a slump. As for the transfer window, it makes sense that Kenny Jackett's priority is simply to keep hold of the loan players that are settled and have proved themselves by helping push the club into the promotion places. If he can get a few more months from Adam Bolder, who recently returned to Queens Park Rangers but may yet return for another loan spell, and turn Tresor Kandol's temporary move from Leeds into a permanent one, half the battle should be done.
