Pete Doherty at last year's 'Celebrity Soccer Six'
It's now 13 years since the first 'Soccer Six' was held at Mile End Stadium, when the likes of Reef, Blur, Dodgy, Pulp and Shed 7 gave their fans a chance to see their heroes up close and personal (well, sweaty and wearing shorts). Since then, the tournament has become a twice-yearly event touring some of Britain's top grounds, with stars from music, TV and film trying to kid themselves they really could have made it as pros if stage school and screaming girls hadn't come calling. Defending champions are Babyshambles, who last year saw off Razorlight, Angus Deayton and Dave Gorman's comedy team and DJ Spoony's posse, with a Pete Doherty goal in the final and Kate Moss cheering in the stands. Ian Rush, Lee Sharpe, John Barnes and Matt Le Tissier will be on hand to add a few touches of quality. Andrew Shields
