This is the WTCC's only visit to the UK in 2008, with around 40 high-performance versions of showroom cars from top manufacturers running on the Grand Prix circuit at Brands. It's a particularly big weekend for Andy Priaulx, who became Britain's first car racing world champion since Damon Hill when he lifted the trophy in 2005 and is now bidding for a fourth straight title. He currently lies fourth, with the dominant diesel power of SEAT's Gabriele Tarquini setting the pace after six rounds. BMW and Chevrolet will also be in the hunt for points in the kind of bumper-to-bumper action that makes touring cars so compelling. Sunday's programme includes a stack of off-track entertainment including an aerobatics display and funfair. You won't need to wear oil-spattered overalls or talk torque to feel at home. Andrew Shields
