A new-look Capital side opened their season with defeats by Leicester Riders and MK Lions, leaving rookie coach Milek Jivens with mixed emotions: 'I was happy to get my first game out of the way, but the team were a bit nervous and we didn't execute as well as I'd hoped'. Jivens was behind the scenes last season and stepped up when former play-caller Steve Bucknall left, but has had little time to get his players together: 'There's going to be stress, but hopefully there's going to be some happiness'. Heat have also made plenty of changes over the summer but if Mike Martin is fully fit and Chad McKnight starts to deliver then Paul James's squad may be just too classy for their hosts.
