  • Coca-Cola Championship Charlton Athletic v Bristol City

  • Tue Oct 21
  • This event has finished
  • The Valley, Floyd Rd, SE7 8BL
  • Last season this fixture ended in a 1-1 draw, which pleased Bristol City's supporters more than the Valley faithful. The travelling fans celebrated their second-half equaliser with an explosion of noise and a flare thrown on to the pitch. This act of unbridled passion and misbehaviour was met by righteous boos from the locals, although one member of the home crowd shouted: 'What are you booing for? You wouldn't boo if this was the San Siro,' seemingly oblivious to the fact that Charlton's lowly position in the Championship hardly warrants European football. Don't expect flares this time around. Both sides are engulfed by mid-table mediocrity where it is hard to let passions run riot. That said, if Charlton fail to perform then sparks could fly as a growing band of restless natives will be eager to make their discontentment with Alan Pardew known by both the manager and the board.
