La Clique
The spirit of the London Hippodrome in its heyday lives on, in aptly scuzzy form, in 'La Clique'. This burlesque variety show is impressively eclectic. But, thanks to thoughtful presentation (spivvy ushers in bowlers and pie and mash at the bar), and to the extraordinary lead of Mario Queen of the Circus (think Freddie Mercury with a lot of extra balls), it comes together as a whole of outré, hilarious pleasure.
