Perched on a sofa they probably bought on a DFS instalment plan, a couple survey the mad, bad world around them – and scoff. Husband John, played by Ian Groombridge, is the kind of man who confidently pronounces San Diego as the capital of Chile and laughs, incredulous at your stupidity, while Olivia Darnley's Anna is woman calcified with ignorance, scorn and neurosis.
