The celebrated Belarus Free Theatre call in at the Young Vic as part of Lift 2012. As the subtitle suggests, 'Minsk, 2011' is a response to the late American postmodernist Acker's text about sexuality in New York, 'N.Y.C 1979'. Inevitably, 'Minsk, 2011' takes a somewhat darker tack, being an examination of the brutal repression of personal and sexual expression that has taken place in Belarus under its dictatorship.
