NT: 50 Years on Stage

The celebrations for the National Theatre's 50th birthday hit new heights in November this year as this rather exciting one-off anniversary event is staged. Many of the great and the good of NT alumni will be brought together for an evening of live snippets of old shows and glimpses of stuff from the archive. Included in the 100-strong line-up are (in no particular order) Simon Russell Beale, Benedict Cumberbatch, Judi Dench, Michael Gambon, Derek Jacobi, Maggie Smith, Helen Mirren, Adrian Lester and Rory Kinnear. Expect bits of future NT boss Rufus Norris's 'London Road', 'Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead' and 'The History Boys'. There is a special preview dress rehearsal of the show on the evening of Friday 1 November which the public can attend. Then the full performance will be broadcast on BBC Two the following day on Saturday November 2.
