Britain's biggest theatre awards, the Oliviers, take place this Sunday at the Royal Opera House, but if you haven't been lucky enough to score a ticket to the event you can still enjoy an evening of entertainment down by the red carpet or over in Covent Garden Piazza, where there'll be a whole host of live performances on show.
The red carpet

The red carpet

Join fellow theatre fans and help welcome the stars of the London stage and celebrities from film and television to the most illustrious night in the London theatre calendar. See the glamorous dresses, resplendent accessories and sharp suits first hand as the stars make their way down the red carpet to the Royal Opera House.

Among the big names coming out for the evening are presenters including Michael Ball, Samantha Barks, Kristin Davis, Nigel Harman and Robert Lindsay. The nominees include Hayley Atwell, Anna Chancellor, Judi Dench, Tom Hiddleston and Jude Law.

Party on the piazza

Musical theatre star Michael Xavier, who has twice been nominated for an Olivier Award, and classical music star and TV presenter Myleene Klass will host an evening of entertainment on the stage in Covent Garden Piazza.

From 17:00, you will be entertained by live performances from hit shows like Avenue Q, and three of this year’s Audience Award nominees, Les Misérables, Matilda The Musical and Wicked.

When the ceremony gets underway at 18:30, you can watch all the action on big screens as the whole show is streamed directly to theatre fans in the Piazza.
