One Snowy Night

'One Snowy Night' © SONY DSC
In his charming children's book, Nick Butterworth has Percy the Park keeper hanging out with all the furry animal friends who live near him. Here the tale is adapted for the stage for Christmas complete with sing-along-songs. Ages 3-7.

We saw this production with our two children aged 5 and 21/2. We felt that the review by MumofTwo was very unfair. The production was not of West End standard we agree but nor were the prices. The children enjoyed the production, which was friendly and accessible for young children. The puppetry was nicely done and we felt it was a suitable, family, pre-Christmas treat.

Hate writing bad reviews but this play was totally awful. An hour in length, the play follows Percy the Park keeper over a day and evening. It was unbelievable dull. One scene change, my 3 year old asked me 'when is something else going to happen?' after about 30 minutes which pretty much sums it up. The songs were terrible, as was the singing. Rubbish puppetry with the puppeteers running all over the stage dropping one furry animal to exchange for another. Amateur, unimpressive and utterly boring. Don't waste your money - you'll feel cheated.
