I thought it was very good. Unusual, yes, but beautifully written and provocative, while some very witty dialogue prevented it being too earnest or pretentious. Excellent acting, by the Doge in particular. Would give 3 and a half stars.

Incredibly disappointing play which cannot find which genre it belongs to. The cliches about the relationship of the artist with the state are numerous, and Fiona Shaw's breasts become quite tedious to watch after a while.
