Time Out says

When Neil Gaiman explains what he does for a living, he says he tells lies. The prolific, best-selling author of ‘American Gods’ and ‘The Graveyard Book’ is best known for his science fiction and fantasy. In his latest book, ‘The View from the Cheap Seats’, he gathers his best nonfiction into a collection that celebrates the power of reading and storytelling.

Gaiman will mark the book’s publication with an in-conversation event with fellow author, Audrey Niffenegger. He’ll take questions from the audience and from fans around the globe via Twitter. The event will be streamed around the world.

The essays, speeches and articles in Gaiman’s book range from music to comic books to the Syrian refugee crisis. One piece was written for Time Out in 1990. Gaiman had recently retired from journalism to write fiction, but couldn’t resist when editor Maria Lexton asked him to stay out all night on the streets of London and write about what happened.
