Mon Oct 29 2012
Before finding fame, Charles Dickens spent much of his time in the gallery of the House of Commons as a Parliamentary reporter. Speakers including Dickens's great great great granddaughter Lucinda Hawksley and Professor John Drew, author of 'Dickens the Journalist' discuss how the experience may have influenced his fiction, and what he thought of Parliament and the Parliamentary process. Carolyn Quinn, presenter of BBC Radio 4's 'The Westminster Hour', chairs. The event is free, but advance registration at the website is essential.
