I think that the floating aspect of this event is going to enhance the viewing of the movies no end. I think that watching movies outside of cinemas is a great thing and I cant get enough of it myself.

Following its success in 2011, Floating Cinema relaunched this summer (as part of the Open East Festival in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park) with a ten-week programme of more than 20 free and ticketed events and screenings devised by Hackney-based artists Nina Pope and Karen Guthrie (somewhere.org.uk). Highlights include a fancy-dress screening of Tim Burton's 'Frankenweenie' (23 Aug, free); ‘Troubled Waters’, a crime-themed event led by the Thames Police Museum (3 Sept, £10-£12); East End comedy at the 'Micro Chatshows' (5, 12, 19 Sept, free); a 'Water Folk' family day (13 Sept, free), and a series of 'Everyday Science' events, with Radio 4's Helen Keen and Guerilla Science (28-29 Sept, free-£12).
