FREE Dance Practise for Michael Jackson's Thriller
If you are interested in taking part in Thrill The World day on Saturday, 25th October 2014, please check out 'Thrill the World London' on facebook.
It would be great to unite and dance to Michael Jackson's Thriller with you all then, together with the rest of the world - all at exactly the same time.
The dance may look complicated, and time-consuming to learn, but please do check my facebook timeline (Sylvester Ponniah), dated 18th August for help.
To help everyone get motivated and gain confidence in carrying out the moves, I am arranging three 2 hour long dance practise sessions.
The time: Monday 7pm to 9pm on 6th, 13th and 20th October 2014.
The venue: St Peter's Church, 310 Kennington Lane, Vauxhall, SE11 5HY
I know, from experience, that trying to learn dance moves by yourself from watching video clips is not very easy and can be off-putting.
Normally, there is not much room in which to practise and you have to double back to some free space to continue the dance move.
This can cause problems in retaining confidence, as you can lose timing, when you try to keep to the beat.
Also, if you are learning alone, you do not get feedback to see if you are not quite grasping the move.
To gain confidence, it is best to dance in front of a mirror.
At the venue, where we will practise, I am afraid we have no mirrors, but if need be, I will try to learn the mirror image to the moves, so I can be your mirror as I teach you the moves.
If a different location for venue - with mirror on wall - becomes available, I will let you know.
For more information, check 'Sylvester Ponniah' facebook timeline.
Anyone interested, please let me know as soon as possible, by 5th October for first class;
by 12th October for second class;
by 19th October for third class.
We will recap, so don't worry if you miss a session.
(You don't have to participate in the actual 'Thrill The World' event on 25th October, but it is fun and it does not matter if you make mistakes.)
These classes are held in London for:
7pm-9pm on 6th October
7pm-9pm on 13th October
7pm-9pm on 20th October
Free workshop on communication and teamwork on 5th September in London. Do you know the purpose of your work? Are you a team player? Are you a great communicator? Can you easily persuade someone to see your point of view? Can you think outside the box to solve problems creatively? Let's find out! What business are you in? Think about this question - no matter where you work or who for what is the essence or key purpose of your job/department/organisation? Answers may vary but the priorities you may give to elements of the answer will be key - particularly if you want to set yourself up in a business. We will have fun doing an interactive exercise which at first looks simple until we ask the question what business were we in? This is not a lecture but a journey to learn more about ourselves. Come prepared to get actively involved and bring your contribution on the day. Only 5 spaces available so book quickly! More information follow the link: http://www.jcilondon.org.uk/events/2013-09-05/1238-what-business-are-you-in-interactive-workshop/
