Kensington Palace's doors are once again open to the public, and the timing couldn't be more apt in this Jubilee year. Once home to Queen Victoria and the Princess of Wales, it will now be the residence of a new generation of royals. The rooms have been transformed into interactive experiences, showcasing work by contemporary installation artists alongside exhibits from the palace's collection.
Kensington Palace has been a royal residence since the building was acquired by William III and Mary II in 1689. It was radically altered by Sir Christopher Wren and in the eighteenth century by William Kent. It has undergone a £12 million re-presentation of the public spaces, the biggest project ever undertaken by the independent charity Historic Royal Palaces.
