Kensington Palace's doors are once again open to the public, and the timing couldn't be more apt in this Jubilee year. Once home to Queen Victoria and the Princess of Wales, it will now be the residence of a new generation of royals. The rooms have been transformed into interactive experiences, showcasing work by contemporary installation artists alongside exhibits from the palace's collection.
The Cupola Room
King George I undertook some major building changes upon his ascension to the throne in 1714. He commissioned painter William Kent to add lavish decoration and the Cupola Room was the first he worked on. He had decorative influence in all the rooms at the Palace.
