An arts festival which takes place entirely after dark, this Light Night aims to brighten the streets of Canning Town for a second time following a dazzling evening of illuminations, interactive projections and imaginatively-lit installations last December. The theme for 2014 is 'The Fire and the Stars', in tribute to humankind's long-lived habit of staring into flames and up at the night sky. Visitors can expect to see mesmerising, glowing artworks from the likes of Loop.pH and Creatmosphere as well as an installation across four Caning Town shopfronts by Speirs + Major. Blanc Sceol will provide participatory performances, while Samuel Wyer and Jacob V Joyce will add storytelling and puppetry. All activities are free.
