Mencap’s Step Up Challenge

Better find a friend with a penthouse flat to help you train for this thigh-burning challenge in aid of Mencap. Participants in 'Step Up 3, 2, 1' are challenged to dash up the stairs of three different vertiginous buildings, running 6.1km between them and finishing in the Walkie Talkie's Sky Garden for a glass of champagne. If the prospect of 71 flights of stairs (and over 1,500 individual steps) is too daunting you can sign up for 'Step Up 1', which only (only!) involves the 36 stories at the Walkie Talkie. Registration is £35 and runners are asked to raise sponsorphip of at least £300 for 'Step Up 3, 2, 1' or £200 for 'Step Up 1'.
