Incredibly disappointing. Arrived at 7.45pm in order to view the second bonfire and fireworks. Was still queuing at 8.30pm to get into the park. No orderly queue formed at all. People pushing and shoving from all directions. No stewards overseeing into the park let alone throughout the queue. Two lifeless policemen standing there doing nothing. After waiting 45 minutes we turned around and walked out. Why pay £8 to go in when the fireworks had already started? Poorly organised.

The Modern Park festivities open at 5.15pm with a first bonfire and a fireworks display that is suitable for young children – nothing too noisy. At 8.15pm there's a more elaborate (read way louder) adult display, again kicked off with a bonfire. Fairground rides and food stalls stay open till 10pm. The public is not permitted to take any fireworks, pets or alcohol into the park.
