For Halloween, the Natural History Museum's Night Safari series digs into the science behind the terrifying myths of three monsters – illustrated, of course, by impressive specimens from the museum collections. You can chat to the scientists – and meet their favourite artefacts – over a drink in the pay bar afterwards, as well as getting to explore the wonderful Central Hall (home to the Diplodocus skeleton), Creepy Crawlies section and Treasures gallery without a million schoolkids getting under your feet. No under-16s.
