The volunteer-run Occupy London Tours promise to show you the really scary side of London – not just the tourist-friendly mythmaking of Jack the Ripper tours of the East End. This 90min tour starts, appropriately enough, at the Canary Wharf tube exit on to Banker's Plaza. It then takes you round the former dock, revamped painfully since the 1980s but now home to much of the country's financial services industry. Discover the role this part of London played in the financial crisis of 2007/8 on a tour of the banks, ratings agencies, accountancy firms and regulators clustered around Canada Square. You’ll visit the last resting place of Lehman Bros, make your own ‘credit default swap’ and find out how to create money out of thin air…
Note: this is a free evening walk, but the precise time of departure will only be given when you book.
