Time Out sends its photographer to check out the Olympic Park
With the London 2012 Olympic Games now well under way, Time Out takes a stroll around the park to meet spectators and view the artwork, and landscaping, of the largest new urban park to be built in Europe for the last 150 years. Photography by Rob Greig.
Designed by Professors Nigel Dunnett and James Hitchmough of the department of landscape at the University of Sheffield, the horticulture at the Olympic park has been a vast undertaking. The area has been planted with 4,000 trees, 300,000 wetland plants and 15,000 square metres of lawn. There is also acres of wildflower meadows with a gold colour theme.
