One of Britain's most important post-war figurative artists gets his first UK retrospective since 1994, when negative reviews of a major show at the Tate reportedly played a role in his departure for Los Angeles three years later. Fresh from the Jewish Museum Berlin, this exhibition will be split across two sites, with the Jewish Museum London displaying more than 30 works in which Kitaj explored his Jewish identity, in a show entitled 'The Art of Identity'. 'Analyst for Our Time' will run simultaneously at Pallant HouseGallery in Chicester, W. Sussex.
