Time Out says

In memory of the long since demolished Richmond Ice Rink, a temporary rink is being set up in the grounds of York House. The old rink, which opened in 1928, was once the biggest in the world and stayed open throughout WWII, but was finally razed to the ground in 1992 after a property developer bought the building. However, for all of December and early January, Twickenham Alive are bringing skating back to the area with a temporary rink in the grounds of York House. Alongside the rink will be Shetland pony rides, a Santa's grotto and festive food.
