Summer Streets on Regent Street

Regent Street, Soho Sunday July 27 2014 0:00

It's not unusual for traffic to be unable to drive south from Oxford Circus, but it's normally at a standstill rather than cleared out of the way. Every Sunday in July  Regent Street's classy curve will be pedestrianised for a street party, with the festivities taking on a different theme each week. July 6 will see the tarmac transformed into lawn for a garden party, featuring live jazz, ice sculptures, face painting and a marquee full of butterflies and bees. Food is the focus on July 13, with 60 stalls serving goodies to snack on, a strawberry dipping bar and live performances from West End Kids, Jive Aces and City Academy. Fashion takes over on July 20, with free makeovers, a 100m catwalk and live music to strut along to. July 27 will see thousands of free ice creams given out to celebrate Magnum's 25th birthday and a huge range of musical performances. Entrance is free.
