The Hayward Gallery's summer exhibition presents the work of outsider artists – a largely self-taught selection of architects and artists, photographers and filmmakers, futurists and choreographers, healers and scientists – who reveal alternative ways of perceiving, describing and navigating the world around us. Featuring a range of contributors, from fringe physicists to the inventors of new language systems, the show departs from mainstream conventions and accepted ways of thinking, promoting instead highly eccentric paths of discovery and innovation.
