Arts organisation The Brick Box, who take under-used spaces and turn them into places of beauty, where 'art, love and magic flourish', take over two spaces in Newham this summer – underneath the A13 flyover and the Royal Victoria Dock. For two months, the waterfront will become a beach with 200 tonnes of sand, deckchairs and free events each Saturday between 12pm and 8pm. Expect performance, live music, workshops, games, craft and various stalls.

Very nice small strip of sandy "beach" with nice beach bar although a little exposed by surrounding apartment blocks and airplanes. You can enjoy any of the foodie street pop up stalls along the waterside. Take the cable gondola to north greenwich and have great views over east London and beyond.
