The Shard

Find out more about London's newest and tallest skyscraper.

At 310m (1,016 ft) the newest addition to the London skyline is officially the tallest building in Western Europe. Conceived by the Sellar group, The Shard is due to be occupied by a mixture of offices, residential apartments, shops and restaurants. Time Out has had a sneak peek at what will be included in the exhibition, but we can't reveal the details just yet. One thing we know for sure is that the biggest draw will be the 360° views of the city. Two high speed elevators (taking just 30 seconds each) will transport visitors up to the sixty-eighth floor and you'll be able to get all the way up to the dizzying heights of the seventy-second floor. The View from The Shard is anticipated to become one of the mostly highly sought-after tourist attractions when it opens on February 1, 2013.
