The new permanent galleries showcase the best of the performing arts, not just theatre but also ballet, pantomime and rock music. Along with a first folio of Shakespeare’s plays from 1623, a tutu worn by Margot Fonteyn in ‘Swan Lake’ and a guitar smashed by Pete Townshend during a 1970s performance with The Who, the displays also include newly commissioned film interviews with playwright Michael Frayn and director Peter Hall.
