Time Out says
Mon Feb 11 2013
Wispy-haired men in rainbow-coloured peace-symbol T-shirts will probably be few and far between at this Shoreditch tie-dye workshop. It’s fresh-faced hipsters (rather than ageing hippies) that are more likely to be found here, tying up their whites and wielding tubes of Dylon in a sort of post-grunge stab at an ironical fashion statement. Still, there should be space for the genuinely nostalgic/restless child/crafty type to learn the art of swirly fabric painting at one of Tie Dye High Five’s four instructive sessions. The organisers – that’s the folk behind creative agency Neon Stash – will be teaching you how to tie dye, dip dye (a half-and-half colour) and use fabric pens. Plain T-shirts will be provided as part of the ticket price and ethical denim label Monkee Genes will be selling organic white jeans for a reduced price of £20 (instead of £60) – though you can also BYOW (Bring Your Own Whites). Workshops are: Sat Feb 23 2pm and 5pm; Sun Feb 24 12.30pm and 3.30pm. If you don’t manage to book an advance ticket, try your luck and swing by for a drop-in tie dye service.
