UCL celebrates the arts during this ten-day festival of free events. The centrepiece is ‘Something Else for the Weekend’ (May 9-12) – four days of participatory, hands-on activities giving festival goers the chance to get up close and personal with UCL research. Other events include bite-size lectures, readings and exhibitions, poetry, panel discussions, film screenings and debates. We're loving the sound of the 'Self-Exposed: The Intensity and Variety of Self-Portraiture' talk (May 9 6.30-7.30pm) and 'A Jane Austen Quiz' (May 15 6.30-7.30pm). Events generally take place daily between 1-2pm and 6.30-7.30pm. For full details see www.ucl.ac.uk/festival-of-the-arts.
