Recently refurbished, Vinopolis offers a range of wine tasting experiences: 'Essential self-guided wine tasting experience' (seven drink tokens; peak £32, off-peak £27); 'Classic self-guided wine tasting experience' (12 drink tokens; peak £37, off-peak £32); 'Quintessential self-guided wine tasting experience' (16 drinks tokens; peak £43, off-peak £38). Visitors receive a card, pre-loaded with drink tokens, that can be spent on wines, spirits and Champagne (drinks cost between one and four tokens). Experts are on hand to give the lowdown on grape varieties and vineyards, as well as the effect of climate on wine production. All tasting experiences begin with a 15-minute 'How to taste wine' session in the theatre, where visitors are shown how to perfect their sniff, swirl and slurp technique.
