To celebrate Time Out's 40th anniversary and the £2.6 million refurbishment of Central YMCA Club – 'the world's first YMCA' and a regular in Time Out's 'Top Gym' guides – we have teamed up to present an unforgettable free evening of fitness through the decades. Covering the past 40 years, from the original legs, bums and tums workout to high-impact aerobics and street dance, the evening will culminate in a one-hour mass workout showcasing current trends such as cardio kick, salsa and tribal aerobics. Dress in the style of your favourite decade - but don't forget the legwarmers and Lycra!
After you've applied for a ticket, we will contact you on Friday January 23 to let you know whether you have been successful. The event has been organised into three main time slots – 6.30pm, 7.15pm and 8pm – with a selection of workouts in each. From the timetable below, please have a think about which workouts you would like to attend in any or all of these slots. On the evening, Central YMCA will be open for admission from 5.45pm. You will then collect a colour-coded wristband for your chosen workouts – first come, first served, so try to arrive in good time. Please come ready to exercise if you possibly can, as changing facilities will be very limited. However, a secure bag drop will be available.

7.15-8pm: ON THE TABLE Reformer Pilates for beginners
8-8.45pm: ON THE FLOOR AGAIN! Matwork Pilates for those with some experience
