Five cult American comedies you need to know about

The joke's on US in these unmissable TV shows

The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret

What?
Yellow-bellied, hapless American (David Cross) sabotages new UK sales career through inveterate lying and moral cowardice.

Why?
An object lesson in well-constructed farce, with a mouth-watering cast: Cross and Will Arnett should keep ‘Arrested Development’ devotees occupied until the series returns in May, while Sharon Horgan and Blake Harrison play it admirably straight. Random cameos include Jon Hamm, Spike Jonze and Janeane Garofalo.

Where and when?
Season one on DVD; season two starts Tuesday March 5, 10.30pm, Fox.
