Oh, Torben. You’re sleeping in the office. Your wife, your kids and your illicit lover all think you’re an arsehole. Who do you really not need to meet at this moment? How about ‘Lasse and Emile from development’, a pair of woolly hat-wearing hipsters who Alex seems to have invited into the office purely for the purposes of tormenting you?

As the finale of ‘Borgen’ begins, our various flawed heroes (not to mention our one slightly too flawless one) are all facing their greatest trials. The election campaign has turned seriously dirty, the drama behind the scenes at TV1 matches the upheaval in front of camera and Birgitte’s health issue continues to lurk.

Without wishing to say too much, the endgame isn’t entirely devoid of cheese. But it’s cheese of the finest sort – an intense and savoury comté rather than any of your processed muck. We’d say the creators and characters have just about earned it. Tak.
