The 12 Drinks of Christmas

As brothers-in-law, Alexander Armstrong and Giles Coren spend most Christmases together, with very different approaches to the booze selection that will accompany their festive feasting. Armstrong, usually the host on the day, likes to choose the good stuff, while Coren prefers to go for quantity over quality.

What better way to find common ground on the best 12 festive drinks than through a TV show that gives the viewing public a host of top tipple tips, along with a dash of comedy and infotainment? Comic and critic make a good pair, their obvious ease and familiarity working nicely alongside Armstrong’s understated comedy and Coren’s witty observations as they set fire to Christmas puds with an array of different spirits, concoct outlandish Christmas Eve cocktails, sample the ultimate eggnog and create a wassail punch.

Alongside the silliness, though, are some useful reasons to watch: in the UK we spend more than £10 billion on alcohol at Christmas, so why not spend it on some good stuff?
