The Big Dirty List Show: 50 Years of Sex and Music

We all know by now that C4 will use any excuse to seduce viewers with a list show – especially if it can somehow involve sex and/or music. So the channel’s Mating Season has provided this perfect storm of a countdown, examining 20 of the ‘most sexual’ songs from the past 50 years in the vague context of how music defines and reflects attitudes to making sweet, sweet love.

Information on said songs – voted for in ‘an exclusive poll’, apparently – is a little sketchy, but it’s safe to assume from the list of contributors that Frankie’s ‘Relax’, Lil’ Louis’ late-’80s banger ‘French Kiss’ and the PG-raunch of INXS’s ‘Need You Tonight’ will be featuring. And if Serge Gainsbourg isn’t in there, we’ll eat our chapeaux.
