Novello Theatre review

Built by eminent architect of the time, WGR Sprague, as part of a pair, Novello joins the Aldwych Theatre in flanking the Waldorf Hotel in style. Good, early twentieth century looks aside, Novello prides itself on staging long running comedies from 'Arsenic and Old Lace' in the 1940s to 'No Sex Please, We're British' in the '80s, as well as being a popular haunt for the RSC. Its fortunes have faltered somewhat in recent years, musical productions such as 'The Drowsy Chaperone' and 'Desperately Seeking Susan' crashing and burning.
