Famous, in part, for giving a leg up to the YBAs, White Cube opened a gallery in their spiritual home of Hoxton in 2000. A former 1920s light industrial building was transformed into a white, two-tier space by Jay Jopling and continues to exhibit challenging contemporary art. White Cube's ability to shock may be muted these days, but you can still catch interesting shows in amongst the work of Jake and Dinos Chapman, Gilbert and George et al.
