This West London fringe theatre recently changed its name from Tabard Theatre to Chiswick Playhouse, presumably reflecting a step up in ambition. It's a 95-seater studio space that sits above the Tabard pub, near Turnham Green tube station. It opened in 1985, with a focus on new writing and previews by big name comedians; that's continued, alongside regular musicals.
