Set on part of the National Trust's Morden Hall Park Estate, Deen City Farm provides south Wimbledon with a healthy dose of the countryside. Meet the farmyard residents (including Milo and Kimby the alpacas), buy grass nuts to feed the animals or squeal over the newly born ducklings, chicks and lambs. With funding cuts looming, the farm is determined to stay open and is continuing to offer its Growing Garden community project and free bicycle surgeries. For kids, there is also a youngfarmers club and 'Own A Pony Days' for a taste of life on the farm.

Took our 2 1/2 year old to Deen City Farm a couple of weekends ago and I have to say it was not as impressive as I thought. Firstly ALL the animals were in cages or enclosures or some description - I hardly call that interacting with the animals. The gardens were very neat and well maintained. We shared a plate of chips in the cafe - which was okay, they were a bit oily but did the job till we got home to have our proper lunch. What he loved most was watching the older children ride horses at the Riding School section of the farm. It was an okay experience but we have been to Surrey Docks Farm and have to say if you want a hands on experience, that is the place to go!
